Is your Cadence blood pressure monitor not working as it should? Whether you're seeing unusual readings or having trouble getting it started, we know how important accurate blood pressure tracking is for your health.

Below, we’ll walk you through common problems and simple solutions to get your blood pressure cuff working correctly again.

White Cadence blood pressure cuff

Cuff won’t power on

If this is your first time using your monitor, please make sure you have pulled the plastic strip out of the back before your first use.

If your cuff still isn’t turning on once you’ve removed the plastic strip, it’s possible that the batteries are not properly installed.

  • Re-insert the batteries by opening the battery door in the back of the scale.
  • Insert the batteries (4 x 1.5V AA) according to the + and - indications inside the battery compartment.
  • If inserted properly, the LCD will power on.
  • If your scale still won’t turn on, replace the batteries.

Replace battery battery icon

When a “replace battery” symbol blinks and your device powers off, it’s time to replace the cuff batteries.

  • Replace all four batteries at the same time. Do NOT mix old batteries with the new ones.
  • Replace the batteries by opening the battery door in the back of the device.
  • Insert the batteries (4 x 1.5V AA) according to the + and - indications inside the battery compartment.
  • When inserted properly, the LCD will power on.

If the monitor powers on and shows no errors, you’re good to go. If you continue to have issues, please call the Cadence Care Team at 855-613-0778.

Fixing an improperly wrapped cuff error

One error you might encounter with your Cadence blood pressure monitor is the "improperly wrapped cuff" error. This occurs when the cuff isn’t wrapped correctly around your arm, leading to inaccurate readings.

  • Start by making sure your arm is bare and relaxed.
  • Slide the cuff up your arm so the lower edge of the cuff sits an inch above your elbow.
  • Ensure the tube is centered on your inner arm and facing away from you.
  • Wrap the cuff around your arm, ensuring it’s snug but not too tight.
  • You should be able to slide one finger underneath the cuff comfortably.
  • The cuff should be tight enough that it doesn’t slip but loose enough to avoid pinching.
  • Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your arm supported at heart level.
  • Start the measurement and stay still and relaxed during the process.

Once you find the right fit with your cuff, try this tip: slide the cuff on and off your arm without readjusting it each time. This can help you maintain a consistent fit.

Fixing an air connector issue error

When you see an “air connector issue” error, it’s possible that your device’s air plug isn’t securely connected. This can lead to inaccurate readings or prevent the monitor from working altogether.

  • Start by locating the air connector plug and socket on your device.
  • Make sure the plug is firmly inserted into the socket.
  • You should hear a click indicating it’s securely connected.
  • Double-check that the connection is tight and there are no gaps.
  • Retake your measurement.
  • If the issue persists, inspect the tube for any visible damage or air leaks by looking for cracks or holes along the tube.
  • If you find any damage, contact the Cadence Care Team at 855-613-0778 to replace.

Excessive body motion error

If you see the “excessive body motion” error, it means your measurement couldn’t be detected due to too much movement. Please retake your measurement, ensuring you stay as still as possible throughout the process.

If the issue persists twice [E0] will display on the monitor.

Pulse not detected error

If your monitor cannot detect a pulse, you might see this “pulse not detected” error message. An incorrectly placed cuff or improper position can cause this issue. Please retake your measurement, ensuring your cuff is placed properly.

  • Start by making sure your arm is bare and relaxed.
  • Slide the cuff up your arm so the lower edge of the cuff sits about an inch above your elbow.

If the issue persists twice [E0] will display on the monitor.

To remedy, relax for five minutes and then take the measurement again.

Signal, data transmission, and connection errors

  • Move to another area with a stronger signal, preferably closer to a window or to a higher floor.
  • You can use your mobile phone to help determine signal strength.
  • Retake your measurement.
  • If the issue persists, contact the Cadence Care Team at 855-613-0778

Inclement weather can weaken cell signals. If it’s foggy, cloudy, rainy, overcast, or windy in your area don’t worry. Your device will store your readings and send your vitals through when a signal returns.
